About Co-operative Housing | Mission Statement
The Mission of Dufferin Grove Housing Co-operative is to enhance the quality of life for all who choose this as a home, by providing affordable homes in a friendly, co-operative and supportive community.
The Board of Directors of Dufferin Grove Housing Co-operative has adopted the following goals and values:
1. To maintain co-operative units and buildings that are safe, secure, accessible and affordable.
2. To nurture a warm, caring, co-operative and supportive community that is open to all residents.
3. To ensure that access to membership, housing activities and information about the Co-op are non-discriminatory and in accordance with fundamental principles of human rights and human dignity.
4. To provide responsible operation of all buildings that is cost-effective, ethical, professional, environmentally friendly and operates within the spirit and letter of government legislation and policies, and the Co-operative's by-laws, policies and procedures.
5. To ensure that all dealings between the Board, staff, members and residents are considerate and respectful of the individual person and in accordance with non-discriminatory principles.
6. To respond to the concerns of staff and members and deal with them within a reasonable time frame.
7. To encourage member participation, education, communication and leadership in all aspects of the Co-op's operations and by-laws.
8. To increase community awareness and support of co-operative and non-profit housing.
